This church is made up of people who are longing to experience the love and presence of God, and then to be able to share that love and care with the community.

At First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee we embrace the traditional means through which God’s people have been encountering God through the ages. The Word of God is the primary way that we know God and know what it means to be in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. The Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are the primary means by which one experiences God’s grace. At First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee there is a dependency on the ministry of the Holy Spirit to guide, transform, and equip.
Community Focused
Focus on serving the community of Greene County and the surrounding areas is an important part of the picture at First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee. The church embraces a “Boots on the Ground” mentality: that what one believes is expressed in how one serves others.
